iTunes Visual Comparison Update
Took a few minutes today to update my iTunes Visual Comparisons for the newly released iTunes 10.4. Roll over images (or on iOS devices, touch) to see the differences between 10.4 and 10.0.
While you’re there, you can check out past comparisons (9 vs 10, 8 vs 9) as well as look at the big jump from 8 to 10.4.
For the love of all things holy… why did 1Password create their Chrome icon with the white shadow going the opposite way? The rest of the icons are there for guidance.
A year ago, I compared the then-brand-new iTunes 9 against its predecessor. New year, new version of iTunes, so here’s an updated comparison. It’s amazing to see just how much visual tweaking Apple does with each new major version of the application.
I’ve also slightly redesigned the whole thing this year so that you can easily view last year’s comparison, and a fun 8 versus 10 version as well.
Update: Added support for iOS devices—on your iPad or iPhone you can now touch the images to toggle back and forth.
For the most part, I think this is a great melding of the two visual styles. I disagree with the “display” redesign, though, since I think the iTunes 9 style is finally more modern and matches the iPhone’s loading bars better. Other than that, these are all good ideas.
