At some point over the past week, our short film passed the 500,000 plays mark at Vimeo. That’s absolutely amazing. We were blown away by the initial reaction to the film (awards, hundreds of amazing comments and emails), but the fact that we still receive messages from viewers every day is just plain fantastic. We can’t thank you all enough for the support and for telling your friends about Forever’s Not So Long.

Did you know your mug is featured on the new Virb feature page? Also, can I get a still of that video put on a tshirt? http://virb.com/features#f_media
I did indeed, and I’m humbled to be the official face of Virb’s media player (apparently). While I’m glad you like the shot, I somehow doubt most people would want to own a t-shirt with that specific facial expression on it. In fact, if I was gonna pick a shirt with my mug on it, I would definitely choose either homeless me or future me. In the mean time, I thank my friends at Virb for choosing me and highlighting that moment from Forever’s Not So Long.
Ego hasn’t been touched in a month or so due to client work, but I have a several very awesome updates coming by the beginning of February. Not quite ready to talk about what’s coming yet, but I’m excited.
Prettify* took a break over the holidays, but I’ve queued up content for the next several weeks, so starting tomorrow it will be back to serving up nice wallpapers and icons.
That Isn’t Art is still trucking along, and has become one of my favorite side projects. I love writing for it, and at this point I don’t see any shortage of ridiculous “art” to lampoon. Now I’m just waiting for my book deal.
pinch/zoom, the company I started with Brian Fling last May, has really hit its stride lately. We’ve got a lot of fantastic projects going with some really big clients. I haven’t been able to talk about projects for months, but there will be stuff to talk about soon that I’m very proud of.
Forever’s Not So Long, our award-winning short film, passed the 150,000 plays mark on Vimeo last week. We couldn’t be happier about the response to this film, both in the festival circuit and from viewers. We’re working on some new projects right now as well.

Tessa Moran:
This apocalypse narrative reaches beyond the genre’s typical gloom with well-placed humor. The take-home: that once past the superficiality of initial courtship, spending one’s life with someone can happen in only a number of hours: the unglamorous yet pleasing sex life; the simple but precious experience of reading together; the quarrel over a little too much spice in the stir-fry.
I love reading other peoples’ descriptions of our film.
Forever’s Not So Long Wins Top Honors at 1 Reel Film Festival at Bumbershoot
I am immensely pleased to announce that our film, Forever’s Not So Long, won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative at the 1 Reel Film Festival!
There were over 100 films at this event presented by the Seattle International Film Festival, and only one award in the narrative category, which we are thrilled to have won.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the screening and supported us, as well as the 1 Reel Festival for honoring our film.
Tom Keogh writing for the Times:
A couple of films at Bumbershoot have end-of-the-world themes. The best is Shawn Morrison’s drama-comedy “Forever’s Not So Long” (part of “The Twilight Zone” program at 9 p.m.), about a man and a woman, strangers to one another, who hook up for the last four hours of Earth’s existence and look as if they’ve lived a lifetime together.
My favorite part of this (aside from the word “best”) is Tom’s description of the film, which is absolutely perfect.
Seattle folks or people in town for Bumbershoot: Come see a screening of our film, Forever’s Not So Long, at the 1 Reel Film Festival on Sunday night at 9PM. A Bumbershoot pass gets you into all the films (even just a day pass), so if you’re in the area we’d love for you to come out and support the film!
