Ego for iPad, Now 40% Cheaper
A new version of Ego for iPad (1.0.6) is now available in the App Store. This version adds support for multi-tasking in iOS 4.2 and also solves a small number of bugs with third-party services.
In addition, I’ve lowered the price of Ego for iPad by 40%. This isn’t a sale, it’s a permanent change. The app is more affordable than ever—now you can have Ego on both your iPhone/iPod Touch and your iPad for a total of less than five bucks. With support for eight different services, that’s a steal.
Ego Wallpapers for iOS Devices
I released these via Twitter a while back, but I still get asked regularly so I figured I’d put all the links in one place. Here are Ego-based wallpapers for all your various devices:
And as a bonus, if you’re really into the tiny dots, here are two versions (larger and smaller dots) to use as desktop wallpapers on your computer.
Of course, nothing goes better with these wallpapers than Ego itself. Go get it.

A new version of Ego for iPad was also released containing the above fixes, as well as a fix for Vimeo auto-login and better swiping detection. Go get ‘em!
Coming Soon: Ego 2.1.4
Yesterday I submitted a new version of Ego for iPhone to the App Store. This release has all-new high resolution images to support the new iPhone 4. I don’t want to sound boastful—oh who am I kidding—but Ego looks gorgeous on the new display.
It took me a full weekend of work (there are a lot of images in Ego, all of which needed to be recreated from scratch), but it was worth every second. I’m very excited for iPhone 4 users to get this new release in their hands.
This review embodies what I think about most App Store customers.
In what universe is $1.99 or $4.99 or even the combined total of $6.98 a “rip off”?
I understand people are cheapskates. I get that. But your cheapness doesn’t mean hard-working developers should give away their applications for free or at a cost which doesn’t pay them fairly for their time and effort. And, further, your cheapness should not be used as the main point in your 1-star review.

Does Ego for iPhone support Tumblr now?
Yes! Version 2.x was released a week or so ago and has support for Tumblr, as well as some redesigned visuals and rewritten code on the back side. Go get it!
Ego for iPad Featured in App Store
A nice, huge Ego banner in the main section of the iPad App Store. On the iPad itself, there’s also a nice little badge in the “What’s Hot” section. I <3 you, Apple.
Announcing Ego for iPad
I’m thrilled to announce Ego for iPad, now available in the App Store. This new version of Ego includes support for Tumblr, a system status notifier (so I can send messages about 3rd-party issues), and, best of all, a detail view which allows you to swipe right on a widget and automatically log into that site to view even more of your stats. Respond to mentions on Twitter, dig into your referrals in Mint and Google Analytics, browse your Tumblr dashboard—all from Ego!
Seth Clifford summed up my thoughts on Ego for iPad yesterday in a Twitter post: “Ego on iPhone was very cool. Ego on iPad feels fully realized.”
A new version of Ego for iPhone which adds Tumblr support and other features is in review with Apple and will hopefully be released soon.
