No Man

I am reminded on a daily basis that I have a problem saying no. When it comes to clients, I tend to say yes when asked for additional functionality or modifications and in most cases it leads directly to headache and money loss for me. Yet I continue to do it. When it comes to relationships, I’ll often get myself into situations I don’t like or no longer want and yet I tend to say yes and move further down the road which in most cases leads directly to heartache and time loss for me.

I’ve only recently decided I’m going to spend more time saying no. NO, NO, NO. When something doesn’t seem like a good idea, I’m going to be upfront about it and not waste my time, my clients’ time, or anyone else’s time.

So, basically, I’m going to be doing the exact opposite of the character Jim Carrey plays in Yes Man, which, you might notice, is basically exactly like Liar, Liar, only now it’s not always telling the truth, it’s always saying yes. Except I’m a real person, and I’ll be saying no.
