Here’s the deal: I used to shave my head. For years I did this. I stopped a while back, and now I have hair.
But apparently, back in 2001, Ryan Gosling did this movie where he played a Jewish kid who becomes a Neo-Nazi. And it turns out, he looks a bit like me in the movie. Enough that I still occasionally get emails from people telling me to watch The Believer, because this Nazi kid looks exactly like me.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to be compared to Ryan Gosling (I hear the ladies like him), I just wish it wasn’t always when he played the Nazi. And, truthfully, when you put photos side-by-side we don’t look all that alike.
Of course, I’d rather be confused for Ryan Gosling—even as a Neo-Nazi—than for the man in a local air-conditioning ad that ran all over NYC last summer who looked like me on steroids and creep juice.
