I went to Chicago this week and spoke with Brian for six and a half hours about iPhone and mobile development. There weren’t many people in attendance, so the presentation turned more into a very long conversation about issues with current mobile technology, what the iPhone has done to the landscape, our mutual love of Apple, and more. Nothing beats getting paid to talk about stuff you already talk about anyway!
Chicago is a very interesting city architecturally—I was amazed by just how different every single building was. Walking around in NYC, there’s a sort of general style for a majority of the buildings. But in Chicago it’s a huge mixture. A building that looks like a glass waterfall across the street from a Boston-esque red brick building with large-bordered windows.
I didn’t have much time in town, but I did manage to get a tour of the Tribune building (amazing lobby!) from my pal Kevin who then took me to Wrigleyville for the best BBQ I’ve ever had at a place called Smoque. Also had a nice dinner with Harper from skinnyCorp and his friends.
Now I have a huge amount of work ahead of me over the next month and then WWDC in June.
