I get a lot of email from people about Ego that sounds something like, “If you added [this feature] I’d buy it in a second,” or, “Should have support for [this service], then I’d be a customer.” These are some of my least favorite emails to receive for two reasons:
I could spend all day adding tons of niche services to Ego, but that isn’t going to happen. So instead, I’d like to add services which serve a large audience and will be useful to most people.
This isn’t to say you shouldn’t suggest services for the Ego—please continue to do so—just remember that adding a vague “or else I won’t buy it” doesn’t help at all.
Also, on a side note, I spend at least an hour a day responding to emails suggesting various services which don’t have an API and in the past few months my replies have gone from being very thoughtful and such to basically one sentence replies (“Sorry, they don’t offer an API”) so I apologize if I seem curt. I don’t mean to be, it’s just I have to write the same email a lot.
