On the Subject of Reviewing In-Ear Headphones

Do you have a suggestion for me? My requirements are quite simple: They must be earbuds, they must have a remote for iPhone functionality. And they must sound good. You suggest something and I’ll buy it and try it out (and, quite probably, return it because I won’t be happy with anything, ever, or at least that’s what therapists keep telling me). So—which do you suggest?

Notes for this post:

  1. skopek answered: I tried a number of earbuds before settling on the Denon 751. Pricy at ~$200, but they’ve got amazing bass for a pair of in-ears
  2. everythinglikesuchasblah answered: There are no good headphones with an iPhone remote. I went through the same dilemma - I ended up with the Bose inears. They are worth it :-D
  3. ryanpmcbride answered: I use the Sennheiser MM50 iP with my iPhone. Well priced. No complaints. amazon.com/Sennhei…
  4. titlecase answered: griffintechnology.com/p…
  5. onigiri answered: shure SE310 + MPA I exchange them with smth else only for the Beyerdynamic DT880 (not earbuds)
  6. adrian answered: have you seen Ultimate buds. I really quite like mine although they did fall apart after 9 months. fixed for free ultimatebuds.com
  7. yasz answered: shure e51s
  8. tobles answered: Sennheiser MM 50 for sure, best ear buds I’ve ever owned.
  9. shaunandrews answered: V-Moda’s Vibe Duo are great for iPhone/Computer use. I use m-audio’s IE-30 when drumming—great sound, but they don’t have the iPhone clicker.
  10. tyznik answered: The V-Moda Vibe 2’s have amazing sound quality for earbuds.
  11. liamdillon answered: I’ve got 2 sets of Ultimate Ears headphones & they’re great. But having recently bought Apple’s in-ears…
  12. esquareda answered: The Stealth Ear Cannons from SIEGE Audio look pretty cool - reasonable price too… siegeaudio.com/product…
  13. jacobmonclahappenings answered: Shure SE530.
  14. adamarp answered: If you plan on treating them with kid gloves I would suggest V-Moda’s. If you want something to travel with they’re not the most durable.
  15. antons answered: Have you tried Sennheiser MM 50?
  16. breefield answered: Wait, why do they have to have iPhone funct? You’re not reviewing in-ear headphones then, you’re reviewing iPhone compatible headphones…
  17. aarontait answered: I love Apple’s new In-Ear headphones. They have the mic and iPhone controls and everything and two drivers for decent sound quality.
  18. caseymac answered: nixon has some great iPhone headphones www.nixo…
  19. stublag answered: I’ve been pretty impressed with the newer Apple In-Ear headphones. They sound pretty good, and (obv) have the iPhone functionality baked in.
