Fixed Two Bugs
Bill Griesau: I fixed two bugs that were a really big pain in the ass.
Bill Griesau: That I knew were there, and I was hoping they'd go away on their own.
Bill Griesau: I thought if I ignored them they'd leave me alone, like bees.
Me: That's my favorite kind of bug fixing.

Anonymous asked: Jawbone Up review? Looks like you had a blast in Seattle, and your wife is adorable like kittens on YouTube, but get back to work. And by 'work' I don't mean Karbon, but the other thing where you provide me with free advice on products and/or services. Thanks, Murray.

Fliers Still Must Turn Off Devices, but It's Not... →
Nick Bilton for the New York Times’ Bits blog:
Nevertheless, Les Dorr, a spokesman for the F.A.A., said the agency would rather err on the side of caution when it comes to digital devices on planes. He cited a 2006 study by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics, a nonprofit group that tests and reports on technical travel and communications issues. The group was asked by the...

Christmas Music
Shawn Morrison: Now that I can listen to Christmas music while coding, I'm really gonna kick some ass.
Kelvin Chan: Are you listening to the Celine Dione versions of those songs?
Shawn Morrison: Don't insult me, Kelvin.
Kelvin Chan: I'm not! I like Celine Dion. She has the voice of an angel!

Anonymous asked: I'd also like to know what iPad 2 case you use? If any at all. I'm debating over a naked iPad or a not so sleek but protective case. Any suggestions?

EasyPay, Customer Experience and The Futureā¢
On Wednesday I visited my local Apple Store to purchase two Jawbone Up bands (more on this later) and had an opportunity to use the new EasyPay system for the first time. I found my items, pulled out my iPhone and opened the Apple Store app. It knew I was in an Apple Store and brought up the EasyPay menu. I pointed the camera at the UPC code of one of the Up packages, and it recognized the code...

It's Actually Called Moom
Me: What's that tool you use for resizing windows via the green traffic light button?
Me: Mopie or Moox or Miggins... something.
Shawn Morrison: Yeah, it's Miggins.
Shawn Morrison: I use an app called Miggins.
Me: I dunno, I downloaded Miggins and all it did was put a video of a dancing leprechaun in the bottom right of my screen.
Shawn Morrison: Honeslty, I'm downloading that immediately.

If Flickr Had an Ego →
Dave Winer:
I wish every product had a spokesperson and ego behind it like the Kindle and iPad do. Take Flickr for example. It’s way ahead of all the other Internet photo apps. But its egos, Stewart and Caterina, left years ago. Since then it’s drifted on with a little of the momentum they left with it. And even so, it’s way ahead of all the other photo apps, as a platform. And...

October in LA
While our friends on the east coast dealt with a snow storm we spent one of the last days of October at the beach. Living in LA has completely ruined us for seasons.
Shot entirely on my iPhone 4S, edited with Final Cut Pro X. Music is “Midnight City” by M83 from their new album Hurry Up We’re Dreaming.
